Advanced Clinical Training. Real-World Sports Experience.

Tamar Dalton holds a Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) from Macquarie University — the highest clinical qualification available in physiotherapy in Australia. This postgraduate doctoral degree builds on an undergraduate physiotherapy degree with advanced clinical training, research methodology, and evidence-based practice. Only a small number of practising physiotherapists in Australia hold this qualification.

Tamar also holds a Bachelor of Medical Science and a Graduate Certificate in Translational Medicine, giving him a uniquely broad scientific foundation that informs every aspect of his clinical work — from initial assessment through to discharge planning.

Before establishing Dalton Physiotherapy, Tamar worked with NRL players and Shute Shield rugby clubs in Sydney, managing acute injuries, rehabilitation, and return-to-sport programs at elite level. This experience translates directly to his private practice patients — whether you're a weekend runner, a competitive athlete, or recovering from a workplace injury, you receive the same standard of care that elite athletes rely on.

Tamar is also a co-author of cancer clinical practice guidelines — a peer-reviewed contribution that reflects his commitment to research-informed practice and his engagement with the broader medical community beyond the clinic.

At Dalton Physiotherapy, every patient receives a thorough assessment, a clear explanation of their condition, and a treatment plan built around their specific goals — not a generic protocol. Tamar is known for listening carefully, explaining things plainly, and following up on progress even after formal treatment concludes.

Clinical Philosophy

Why Patients Choose Dalton Physiotherapy

Highest qualification available. A Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) is a postgraduate doctoral degree — the most advanced clinical qualification in the profession. Very few practising physiotherapists in Australia hold this credential.

Elite sports pedigree. Real-world experience managing injuries at NRL and Shute Shield level means Tamar understands how to get people back to full function quickly and safely — whether you're a professional athlete or a recreational runner.

Research-informed practice. As a co-author of cancer clinical practice guidelines, Tamar applies the same rigour to everyday clinical decisions that he brings to peer-reviewed research.

Genuinely patient-centred. Every treatment plan is built around your specific goals, your timeline, and your life — not a generic protocol. Tamar is known for following up on patient progress even after formal treatment concludes.
